CCJ says Appeals Court and Lowenfield’s report are invalid

Another twist to the March 2nd General and Regional Elections with the Caribbean Court of Justice today ruling that it has jurisdiction to hear the Appeal filed by Jagdeo and Ali.
The CCJ also ruled that the Court of Appeal had no jurisdiction to entertain the matter filed by Eslyn David who was seeking an interpretation of article 177:2 which says most votes counted.
The CCJ also ruled that Chief Elections Officer Keith Lowenfield’s report was invalid, which was prepared based on valid votes and submitted to the Chairman of GECOM.
The CCJ’s decision was unanimous.

UPDATE: Murder suspect succumbs following gunshots exchange with police

Hours after the Guyana Police Force issued a Wanted Bulletin for him, murder accused Keron Adams is now dead.
The man was wounded following an exchange of gunshots with the police at Mocha on the East Bank of Demerara today. Adams was wanted for the murder of Sophia resident Andre Easton who he shot and killed on Tuesday.
According to a police report, the lawmen acting on intelligence gathered went to a location at Mocha, East Bank Demerara, the suspect on seeing the ranks, whipped out a handgun and began shooting at the Police who returned fire and wounded him.
He was rushed to the Diamond Public Hospital and later transferred to the Georgetown Public hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. According to the police, an unlicensed pistol was retrieved at the scene.
Adams and Easton had a misunderstanding over his horse being tied under the shed opposite the suspect’s house. Easton’s reputed wife said on Monday, the suspect pulled a gun on her husband and demanded that he remove his horse, she said her husband reported the matter to the Police.
On Tuesday, the suspect made good on his threats when he shot and killed Easton. Easton’s motionless body was found in the street in a pool of blood in B Field Sophia. He was the father of a 9-month old baby.

Wanted man injured during gunshot exchange with police

Murder suspect Keron Mark Adams who was was on the run from police was today (July 9th) apprehended.
According to a media release from the police around 13:45PM police acting on intelligence searched a location at Mocha, EBD and the suspect on seeing the ranks whipped out a handgun and began shooting at the lawmen who returned fire and wounded him.
The suspect is presently receiving medical attention at the East Bank Demerara Public Hospital( Diamond).
An unlicensed pistol was retrieved at the scene.
