Developing story: Three to be charged for the Henry cousins murder tomorrow
4 months after the brutal killings of the Henry Cousins Joel and Isiah the Director of Public Prosecution has recommended charges against three men.
There are reports that one of the persons fingered in the killings is a one-time prison escapee.
Commissioner of Police Nigel Hoppie said that the suspects are expected in court tomorrow.
The mutilated bodies of the two teenagers were found in the backdam at Cotton Tree with both of their spines severed.
The family has been crying out for justice for months and are now hoping that the police have arrested the right persons for the offense and are also calling on the lawmen to go after every other lead.

Venezuelan nationals on the run after robbing Guyanese businessman and wife of Guns, ammo, cash, and jewellery
Some members of the Guyana Police Force came under fire along the Aurora River by three Venezuelans suspected in the robbery of a Guyanese businessman and his wife after they responded to the robbery report.
According to a police report, the robbery was committed on 56-year-old businessman Elroy Allam and his 22-year-old reputed wife Shonna Campbell of Waterfront Port Kaituma, North West District. The police report added that the bandits escaped with one .223 Semi-Automatic Rifle with 30 live rounds and one magazine, one .32 semi Automatic pistol with ten live rounds and two magazines, one 12 gauge Semi-Automatic shotgun, $10 million dollars Guyana Currency, four gold chains, and
four gold rings. That incident took place between 23:00hrs and 23:32hrs at the businessman’s premises. The police report added that one of the three Venezuelan nationals is identifiable and other particulars are unknown.
The Police along with the G.D.F Coast Guard based at Morwhanna were immediately summoned and responded and while searching along the Aurora River the Police came under fire from occupants of a boat they observed heading in the direction of Morwhanna. They returned fire, however, the boat and the occupants made good their escape in the direction of the Guyana/Venezuela border (Imbetero). None of the ranks were injured neither could the police say if any of the suspects in the boat were injured. The police said the area was canvassed, surveillance cameras were seen and footage of the incident will be retrieved. The police investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Three suspects being sought by CANU following bust of over 80lbs of cannabis at Corriverton
The 80lbs of Cannabis was busted by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit at Dukestown, Corriverton Berbice.
According to a release from CANU, its officers were acting on information received and proceeded to the community on Wednesday, January 6th. During that operation the officers observed three males walking along a dam, two of whom were carrying bags on their shoulders, upon seeing the CANU officers the men dropped the bags and fled into the bushes. The officers then discovered two “rice bags” containing several parcels of cannabis.
The parcels were counted and amounted to 15 parcels with an approximate weight of over 80lbs.

Over 3lbs of Cannabis and other contraband items found at the New Amsterdam prison
The Narcotics and Contraband items were found around 19:30 hours on January 6th by ranks of the New Amsterdam Prison. According to a release from the police, during the conduct of a search at the Northwestern dormitory, a salt bag was found abandoned in the compound containing the following items.
1)Two cartons of cigarettes
2)Small amounts of tobacco leaves (fronto)
3) six-packs of bamboo
4) 17 bulky parcels containing a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The matter was reported to the Central Police Station and the suspected cannabis was handed over.

The drugs were weighed and amounted to 1,730 grams. The suspected cannabis was then lodged. Investigations are ongoing.
