19-year-old Melanie youth charged with the murder of ex-policeman David Gentle

Rollan Abrams appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore in the Cove and John Magistrates’ Court today where the indictable charge of murder was read to him. He was not required to plea to the charge and was remanded to prison until October 22nd.
It is alleged that on September 2nd, 2019 at Haslington, he murdered David Gentle.  David Gentle, a father of four, was found at the side of the road in Haslington in a pool of blood with his neck severed.

The police cracked the case and arrested the young man from Melanie on the East Coast of Demerara on October 1st. Gentle was working with the NDC up to the time of his death.

Police corporal and Rose Hall man busted with over 53lb of marijuana 

A police corporal was taken in custody earlier this evening after he was busted with a sea-man with over 53lbs of marijuana in an intelligence lead Police operation by ranks of the Brickdam Intel department
The drug bust took place in Aubrey Barker Road East La Penitence and the drug was found in the trunk of the car they two men were traveling in.
The officer was identified as Quincy Bachus of Lot 29 Ferry Street New Amsterdam Berbice and the sea-man was identified as Rahamon Singh.
The corporal was stationed at Central Police Station New Amsterdam Berbice.
