Update on “Big Head” arrest

There are reports that Shervington Lovell aka “Big Head” was arrested after he landed in Jamaica, last Thursday on a Fly Jamaica flight.
Canu sources told this newscast that the arrest comes after months of investigations.

There are also reports that Lovell had no drugs on him. Lovell reportedly waived his rights in Jamaica and could be extradited to the United States to face drug trafficking charges.

The “Shiva hope” is a vessel of interest that is suspected to be involved in drug trafficking between  Guyana and Jamaica and may be associated with “Big Head”, but local drug officials here could not confirm if the vessel is indeed owned by the businessman.

Canu sources said the vessel is usually searched, since it might be linked to the cocaine for marijuana trade between Guyana and Jamaica.

A former policeman was today found guilty of raping a three-year-old girl

 Fifty-three-year-old Deon Aaron was found guilty of the heinous crime by a jury in the courtroom of Justice Jo-Ann Barlow.

The court was told that the Aaron engaged in sexual penetration with the then three-year-old between March and October 2016.

The child was left in the man’s care but when her mother returned home, she complained of feeling unwell. An examination was conducted by the girl’s mother and it was suspected that she might have been sexually assaulted.

After an investigation, Aaron a security guard was arrested and charged with the offence. Aaron who was released on $200,000 bail was today remanded to prison until November 8 when a probation report, the victim’s impact statement and the plea of mitigation will be presented to the courts.
