Two Venezuelans and a Guyanese charged with murder of gold miner
Three young men, one Guyanese and two Venezuelan nationals are on remand for the murder of gold miner, Kevin Allam at Basin Port Kaituma, North West District in the Barima/Waini Region.

The three have been identified as 22-year-old Nadeem Baksh of Guyana and Venezuelan nationals 20-year-old Angel Figuera and 22-year-old Gilberto DaSilva.
The three who were in the Port Kaituma Station appeared virtually before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs via Skype where they were not required to plea to the indictable offence. They will all make their next court appearance on December 22, 2020.
Kevin Allam was allegedly killed by the men when he went to the assistance of his reputed wife who was being attacked in the shop they operated.
Reports are that while Allam tried to defend his wife, the suspects dealt him several lashes about his body with a piece of wood until he became unconscious. The men then dragged Allam away from the shop where they slit his throat. The three were arrested some hours ago.
